Sign Up for our 2009 Season
We are now signing up new members for our 2009 season! Please read the instructions carefully, including the “Frequently Asked Questions” concerning the sign-up process. If you have any further questions, please email us at trilliumhaven@earthlink.net, or call us at 616- 457-5822.
Our recruiting process for re-signing up current members, and signing up new members continues through the spring until all spots are filled. Typically we are full as of early May, although our Fulton Market pick up site does fill up more quickly due to the fact that we only have the delivery capacity for 125 member’s produce at that site.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- How do I pay for my share?
We request that your completed sign-up sheet be mailed to us with a check for the $100 deposit. The deposit saves your spot, and the total is due April 1; you can also pay the total amount if you are able. See the sign up form for details on payment options.
- The total share price gives me sticker shock! A better way of looking at the total price of $460 (farm share) or $480 (Fulton share) is to divide it by the total number of weeks (22 per season) which breaks down to $20.90 per week (farm share) and $21.80 per week (Fulton share). Our prices for approximately two full bags of veggies (and up to 4 bags once tomato season begins) are comparable to what you would pay for Meijer's conventional produce which is neither fresh, seasonal, nor locally produced.
- I’m not sure I can handle a full share of produce—do I have any other options?
We recommend new members share their share with another couple/friends/family member. Unless you are a regular farmer’s market shopper, who is very familiar with seasonal produce, and uses your kitchen regularly, the full share may be a little overwhelming. Another advantage to sharing your share is the price—you only have to pay 1/2 of the share price, lowering your price per week to approximately $10.00.
- Between now and June is a long time—how will the farm keep in contact with me, and how will I be notified once the CSA pick ups begin?
We keep in contact with our members via email, postcard and mailed letters. It is very important that your contact information be filled out completely on your sign up form—in particular zip codes and email addresses are vital. Once we have received your sign up form, we will email you a confirmation that we have received your check. In March we will send out a postcard and email reminder of the balance still due (if any). In May you will receive a New Member Welcome packet and letter from the farm, which includes the calendar of farm events and the target date for our first CSA pickup in 2010.
A few days before pickup begins, you will receive an email reminder about the pickup sites and times. If you do not use your email on a regular basis, we will contact you by phone.
